Activism and Language Teaching

I have a strong passion for justice and fairness. I've been this way since I was a child. When I see something unfair or experience it, I can't just let it roll off of my back. I wish I could. My life would be so much easier. I wouldn't get beat up all the time for being loud about things that I feel aren't right.
I literally can not be silent in order to not make someone else look bad if they are acting badly. I can not look the other way when things I feel are wrong are done by my own family members, let alone a friend or associate.
This is who I am. I can't change. But, what I can do and am on a journey to do is harness my passion for justice and fairness to present in a forgiving and compassionate manner because that's what is in my heart.
Anger is a necessary emotion to stand up for what you believe in and advocate for yourself and others, but anger unmastered can cause unnecessary harm and distract from the point one is trying to make. I say this not to mitigate anyone from being angry at injustices....but to be angry and master that anger to be used as energy to keep pushing for fairness and justice in productive ways.
Whatever productive may look like at the moment.
I'm human, and I make mistakes and need to be forgiven. Therefore, it is in my heart to forgive.
